1.在信中你必須要以一兩句話來表達你為何會對你所應征的工作感興趣。
2.告訴收信人你是從何處獲悉對方有職位空缺,這實際上是協助對方從事他的招聘統計工作,例如是報紙廣告,或電臺、政府勞工處等等。
3.告訴對方與你有關的教育、工作經驗,甚至是與此有關的個人興趣、嗜好等。如果你只是剛離校門,也不妨告訴對方你曾做過何種暑期工作,雖然并不一定有關連,但起碼向對方表示你具有工作意愿。
4.提供你的若干個人資料,例如年齡、婚姻情況、興趣、種族、你所參與的團體活動等。
5.提供兩三個擔保人的姓名及其電話號碼。他們能夠對你的為人及工作知識有所了解,他們最好是你的前房主或以前的老師。
6.表示你很想獲得面試機會,而事實上這也是你寫這封來職信的目的,何不言明,爭取獲得這個機會。如果你前赴面試的時間有所限制,也須于信中說明,但不要把時間限制得太緊。
7.措詞項直接,不要轉彎抹角。要給對方一個印象你所感興趣的是他的公司和他所提供的工作性質,而非你自己的個人興趣。你也須表示禮貌,但不要太過份,更不要表示謙卑。
